CASTFUNS HOW TO/SUPPLY PAGE

How To Build A LATS

First I do around the wrist so that as it rolls away from you at the top, then up and over the inside of the thumb.....all the way around the thumb like 1 1/2 times, and backover the wrist across the top...... I do that twice for the first roll....the second time around just go over and back......then all the around the wrist on the second pass, this time as I come around, I go to how far I want it down my hand, it is this time when you slit it as you pass through the forefinger thumb.......then its off you go, finish up the 2" roll up your forearm then start your 4" roll to go all the way for a LATS ! Now (for color medically) use the three inch roll, starting at the top, move downward and when your at the thumb, make it look sweet cause you got the sh$#% ! Remember to get at least 3-4 wraps around the top for a good end, and never be scimpy on your overlaps on the elbow!

You start with stockinette, 2" for arm casts 3" for leg casts and 5" or 6" for body casts

Pulling may stretch it, better to roll it on, leaving plenty of extra at each end

Cut a hole at 45 degrees for the thumb, I add 1" stockinette over the thumb for a LATS

Ready your cast padding, 2 - 3" rolls for a lac, pad to your desire and comfort

Begin at the wrist, going over the hand, and around the thumb, you may need to cut(as required)

Ready to wrap the cast bandages, again starting at the wrist, be sure to wear gloves, follow directions on the bandage packaging

Cafefully around the thumb, no bunching!

Once a couple of layers are complete, now fold the excess stockinette back over the outside

Continue up the arm, finishing the top in the same manner, making the elbow very strong

Now for a final layer, ensure to keep exposed stockinette at 1/4"

You may need to cut and form the bandage around the thumb, for a nice cast

Form and mold the cast to your body

By "working" the finish, a lather forms, aiding in the smoothing of the cast

Continue to "work" and mold until entirely set

ONE KILLER CAST FOR YOU.........
