Day Two

On day two of this trip I had a good supply of fiberglass to play with. After we got up and got our showers I convinced Molly it was time to loose some of her mobility again. She laid on the bed and before long she was in her first colored cast. And not surprisingly, it was a long leg cast. Bright pink.

She really liked the color, and I was anxious to try it out on the public. We decided not to go back to Philadelphia that day and to look for a nice park in Allentown PA. To relax and maybe have a picnic lunch. We drove all over town and couldn't find one. We ended up in the shopping mall and ate lunch in a restaurant there. Molly had been riding around in her wheelchair with that bright pink cast propped up for all to see. That color sure did seem to get a lot of attention as well as comments. When we got into the restaurant Molly got out of the wheelchair and crutched to our table. The hostess was anxious to help and said she would take the wheelchair and put it out of the way for us until we needed it again. She also remarked about that being the Brightest cast she had ever seen.

After a long lunch we spent a little more time in the Mall. Molly wanted to get back to the motel room to watch the NASCAR race on television. I had some plans for the afternoon as well.

I needed to get some things for our dinner which I planned to have in our motel room later, but had trouble finding what I was after. I had to take Molly to several stores to find it. Of coarse this meant getting out her wheelchair and loading her into it and pushing her around each store. I love every moment of it.

After several of these stops I finally found what I needed and unfortunately that was the end of our publicing for the day. It was not however the end of our casting.

Molly got to watch her NASCAR race, but not before I added two white fiberglass long arm casts to her ensemble. This was an awesome combination. She was as helpless as she was in the hip spica. Even more so in some ways. I enjoyed that afternoon and evening as she lay there relying on me for everything. Of coarse she was well taken care of.

Oh, and the things I was looking for in the stores? As Molly lay there unable to even feed herself, I fed her chilled shrimp, fresh fruit, and cheese and crackers, as well as holding her wine glass up to her complete with a straw. Yes you could say I spoiled her a little. After the race was over I got her full attention. The rest of the evenings activities are rather private. I did take some time to get some pictures for you all though.

The Next day we had to go home. I put that pink LLC back on her and wrapped a new layer of pink fiberglass over it for the trip. We stopped for breakfast and lunch and got a few stares and comments but soon we were getting close to home and I had to take it off and end this wonderful weekend.
