The Friday after Jenna got her short leg cast on, we decided to give Allyson a call. She seemed very happy to hear from us, and thought it was a great idea that we get together Saturday afternoon for lunch. We decided on Jenna’s place, and set it up for 1:00pm. As Jenna and I got the place in order, and prepared lunch, we discussed if we should let Allyson in on our little fetish.
"I don’t know." I said. "She seems understanding enough, but she might find our fetish kind of weird."
"Yeah, but she does work in the medical supply business, so she might understand. I don’t think that she’d be in that line of work unless she enjoyed it. Do you?"
"Probably not. I’ll tell you what, let’s wait and see how she reacts to our casts, then we can go from there."
"Sounds like a plan."
Just then the doorbell rang. It was Allyson, and the first thing that I noticed was the bright pink cast she was wearing.
"Hi. Right on time, and might I say, dressed for the occasion. That’s a nice color." I said pointing at her casted left arm.
"Thanks, I decided to go a little wild this time. What do mean by ‘dressed for the occasion’ though?"
"Well, this lunch has a theme you know? You can’t get in unless you’re wearing a cast."
She smiled at that.
"I guess I chose the right outfit then."
We ate lunch in the dinning room, then settled into the living room for some drinks, and what turned out to be quite stimulating conversation.
"So, how are you both getting along in your casts?" Asked Allyson.
"I’m doing much better now that I’ve gotten this short walking cast." Jenna replied. "I don’t even need that crutch anymore. Sitting in that damned wheelchair for six weeks was a pain in the butt, literally."
"That’s great, so how much longer do you have to wear it?"
"I get it off in a week, the I’ll probably have to be in a brace or something for a while. I’m also getting the cast off my arm at the same time. The doctor said I’ll still have to wear a short arm cast for at least two weeks though."
"So what about you, Eric. How much longer for the long leg cast?"
"I go back in a week as well. I’m not sure what they’ll do then. Maybe I’ll get a short one like Jenna’s."
"You probably will." Allyson replied. "They usually downgrade to a short walking cast after the long one is removed, especially if it was a serious fracture. And from what you told me, it sounds like you will be in that one for at least a month."
"I don’t have a problem with that. I’m kind of getting used to wearing a cast. In fact, I’m not sure what I would do without one."
We all laughed at that, then Allyson said something that surprised us both.
"I know what you mean, I try not to go without one if I can help it."
Jenna and I just sat there with our mouths open. Neither of us knew exactly what to say.
"I’m sorry, I just blurted that out. Please don’t think I’m weird or anything."
"Don’t worry." I said. "Why don’t you tell us what you meant, we’re both pretty open minded."
"Well, I usually don’t tell people this, but you seem like pretty understanding people."
"When I was about ten years old, my sister broke her arm pretty badly. She had to wear a cast just like yours Jenna. I was fascinated by it. In fact, I started hanging out with her more than usual just so I could look at that huge cast. At the time I thought there must be something wrong with me. I mean, why else would I be so intrigued by a cast? Anyway, after I grew up and headed off to college, I got a computer for my studies. One night, in my first year there, I saw this guy in the sub shop where I was eating. He had this huge cast on his leg that went all the way up to his thigh. That old fascination returned, and I sat there and watched him until he left, then I followed him back to his dorm just to see him crutching along, and that cast just swinging in the air.
"I went straight from there back to my room and logged on to my computer. I typed in ‘casts’ in my search engine, and about a million matches came up. Most of them were casts of TV shows and movie and things like that, but one site caught my eye. It was ‘OAG recreational orthopedics’ or something like that. When I clicked on that one, I was amazed at what I found. Here was a site devoted to people who like wearing cast just because they enjoy it."
"Anyway, I sat up all night looking at pictures of casted people, and reading stories from casters themselves. The next morning I went straight to the offices and changed my major to orthopedic medicine."
"So if you haven’t guessed by now, I’m turned on by casts. You probably think it’s weird, huh?"
"Actually," Jenna said, "we don’t think it weird. In fact we were discussing earlier how to tell you about our cast fetish."
"Oh my god! I can’t believe this. You guys are so cool."
"Actually, Jenna just got me into the whole fetish thing after my accident. I mean, I always thought that women in casts were hot, but I had no idea that there were others who like them too. And I never thought that I would enjoy being in one myself."
"Well this is interesting." Jenna said with a smile. "Three casters, wearing casts, in the same house. What are the odds?"
"Yeah," replied Allyson. "And all in casts for medical reasons."
We spent the rest of the day talking about our casts, and what we liked about each other’s casts, and what the two women were going to do to me after I was out of my long leg cast.
"Just remember ladies, I do have to go back to work after this comes off."
"We know." Said Jenna. "But we still have weekends."
"That’s right, and you still have at least a month in a short leg cast." Replied Allyson.
The rest of the week went by rather uneventful, and the time finally came to get our casts off.
I was, in fact, reduced to a short leg-walking cast, and Jenna got her leg cast off entirely. All she had to do was wear an air cast brace for another two weeks, and get physical therapy for a month. Her arm cast was also reduced to a short one, and that seemed to make her happy. Although she did confess to me that she was going to miss her casts.
During our first couple of months together I had found out a few things about Jenna. Namely, that she was pretty well off, financially. She had inherited her house from her grandmother when she passed away, as well as a rather large sum of money. She wouldn’t tell me the exact amount, but she said that she was pretty well set for a few years. She had used some of the money to get training as a medical transcriptionist, and did pretty well at that, although she did have to stop temporarily, after her accident.
The fact that she had money had no effect on me at all. I loved her because of who she was, not how much money she had.
About a week after we got our casts off, and changed, another little life altering experience happened to me.
I like to play the lottery simply because, ‘hey, you never know’. Well the lotto had gotten up to 40 million dollars, so I stopped in to get a couple tickets for Jenna and me. I put them in my wallet, and didn’t check the numbers until three days after they had been drawn.
I was sitting in the computer room, (I had abandoned my apartment and moved in with Jenna) and laughing hysterically when Jenna stuck her head in the door.
"What’s up babe?"
"I was just checking the lotto numbers from Wednesday night." I said through my laughter, and now some tears. "You aren’t going to believe this, but we won 40 million dollars."
"Ha, ha, very funny. You think I’m gonna fall for that?"
"Check them yourself."
She was looking from the computer screen to the ticket, and then she let out an earth-shattering scream.
"OH MY GOD!!! I can’t believe this."
She was jumping up and down, and I thought she was going to hurt her leg again.
"Calm down. You’re going to hurt yourself again. Besides, I took the tickets in lump sum, so after taxes and everything else, we’ll probably only get 11 or 12 million."
"OH," she stopped jumping, "is that all? Well, no sense in getting all excited then. I’ll just go back and watch some TV then." We were both smiling now, and we both had tears running down our cheeks.
"Well, if you hadn’t been set for life with your grandmothers inheritance, you are now."
I went over to the dresser, reached in back of my underwear, and brought out a small box.
"I was saving this for the perfect moment, and I guess this qualifies."
I bent down on my good knee, looked into her face, and opened the box.
"Will you marry me?"
Her eyes filled up with tears again, and she just smiled.
"I hope that smile means yes."
"I’m just waiting to see if my heart is going to stop. I’m not sure if it can take so much happiness in one day. Of course my answer is yes."
I was so happy; I placed the ring on her finger. It looked so beautiful next to her cast, even though it was rather small.
"I know it’s kind of small, I’ll get you a better one after the money comes."
"No you won’t. You bought this one before you knew we won the lotto, so it means more to me because it comes from love. I think it’s perfect."
We stood there and held each other tight, and both cried with joy.
After a while Jenna said, "We have to celebrate. Lets call all our friends and throw a party."
So we called everyone. Mike, Chris, Brandi, Allyson, and Jenna’s friend Erika, who had the car accident, but was now out of her cast. We set up the party for that same night, and told everyone that we had some announcements to make. Everyone wanted to bring something to the party, so we just told them to bring some food and drinks.
At eight o’clock they started to show up, and they wanted to know what the surprise was. We told them that they would have to wait till everyone was there.
"Ok," I said, once everyone had a drink. "I guess we can tell you what the big deal is now."
"First, I’m happy to announce that I asked Jenna to marry me, and even more pleased that she said yes."
That got a huge round of applause and congratulations.
"And second." Jenna said. "We also wanted everyone to know that we just won the lottery!"
There was stunned silence, and then they started laughing.
"Yeah, ok. Tell us another one." Said Chris.
After we finally got them all to believe us, Jenna raised her glass for a toast.
"Here’s to all of our friends. We won’t forget who you are. Ever."
There was a big cheer, and the party continued well into the next afternoon.
