Dear JD,
I had a great trip to San Antonio last week.
When I called, Fran told me you were in Paris.
I've heard of that town in North Texas.
Didn't know they had big art galleries there.
I got to San Antonio on Saturday since my boss
wanted to save money on airfare. That evening
I ran into a guy named Robert at one of the
meet-markets there. He seemed very interested in my
walking cast (told him it's for a sprained ankle),
and invited me to join him for dinner.
As I was going to the ladies room, I tripped on a
woman's purse in the aisle and bumped the top of my cast against
a chair and made a dent in it.
Robert was so thoughtful. He offered to take me to
his apartment where he happened to have some plaster he uses for
crafts. Apparently he does a lot of crafts because he has a whole closet
full of plaster bandages. Anyway, he insisted on fixing
my cast himself and he smoothed the plaster very carefully, over and over again. I felt kind of
guilty about putting him to so much trouble, but he said he didn't mind.
After breakfast Sunday, Robert showed me around San Antonio. They call this
the Alamo City. Probably named it for the movie John Wayne made several years
ago. But I bet you already knew that.
We went to the River Walk and all the
men there were so nice to help me in and out of the boat.
Robert took a lot of pictures of me. He thought it would be a good idea
to take some close-ups of my cast so I could show my clients.
My business meeting went very well and I sold lots of casting supplies.
I'm already the sales leader in my office. I'll write soon.
Your Casting Cutie,
Phyllis
P.S. - I'm going to a casting seminar in Montreal next week. -- ciao
