Letter #5 from Phyllis - Fran in Chicago, Part 2

Dear JD,

Well, to continue with our activities last week. Fran and I pretty much spent the days shopping and touring some museums. We would stop every once in a while and sit down by someone we could talk to. Almost everyone was curious about our casts. At various times we even had guys follow us for several blocks.

Friday evening Roger and Matt picked us up and we went to a really nice Chinese place. Matt was so attentive to Fran. I think he really has a thing about toes. He kept asking Fran to check her circulation by wiggling her toes. He's cute.

After dinner we came back to my place to listen to some CD's (since dancing was pretty much out). We got to talking about the casts and Matt said he had wondered what it would feel like and could we possibly make one for him, if it's not too much trouble? Well, I had plenty of fiber and plaster on hand so we let Matt choose. He said he had always admired women in white plaster leg casts, so he wanted to try that.

Fran got to make the cast since she had both hands free. Matt stripped down to his snug fitting shorts and, wow, he's almost as well off as Roger. And his whole bod is so terrific. I mean we're talking 'Greek God', JD. Fran made a beautiful long leg cast and Matt kept exclaiming how good it felt. I think he could hardly control himself, hehe. Then we laid around a couple of hours listening to some cool oldies music.

Saturday morning when I got up, Fran was working on Matt's cast. She said he had been a naughty boy and not waited for his cast to dry enough. But it was ok, she fixed it good as new.

That afternoon, we decided to let Matt get some experience in public so we drove over to Elmhurst, since he was a little shy about having someone he knows see him. We strolled around for a while and when we sat down on a bench to rest, a couple of girls stopped to talk to us. They were so sympathetic when I told them Matt broke his ankle during a try-out for the Bears. They hardly seemed interested in poor Fran and me and how we barely survived a bone-breaking auto accident.

Anyway, we had a great afternoon, except wimpy Roger kept complaining about the fiberglass scratches on his side and back. Guess I should put some stockinette over my arm cast at night.

On the way home we stopped for dinner and the waitress just had to tell us all about her accident when she was in high school and broke her femur doing some cheerleader routines. Poor girl was in traction for two months and a cast-brace for another six months. I could tell Matt was really taking it in, I think he is picking up on this casting thing. Hope some of it rubs off on Roger.

Early Sunday afternoon we took Fran to O'Hare to catch her plane back to Dallas. She wanted to wear her LLC on the plane and let you remove it Monday when she gets back to the OAG.

I have to go now, it's getting late and I still have to remove Matt's cast. I'm looking forward to that, if you know what I mean. I'll be in touch.

Your Casting Cutie,
Phyllis
