At the end of the episode, they did a brief story on the cheerleader, Kristi Yakamaoko, who fell on her head during a routine, fracture her spinal column, some ribs, and other injuries. She, fortunately, did not sustain any paralysis.

Oddly enough, she's on Boston Legal now, a show that is about the very same law firm in which Rebecca DeMornay worked on that episode of The Practice.

The lovely Juliette Binoche's character is in a car accident, where her husband and daughter are killed. She's in the collar and SAC for a short period at the beginning of the film. See it if you haven't. It's a great flim. (Also see White and Red. This is a trilogy but no ortho stuff in the other two, I just had to plug it.)
